Firearm Storage

Hi Guys,

I need some help on this topic. I recently privately purchased a rifle from someone, now he has purchased a new rifle to replace this one but he already has 4 licenses and only occasional hunter status and wants to submit the application for the new one. Can he request to remove this firearm from his name? and What is the correct way of handling this? I have already paid for this rifle. Must this rifle be stored at a police station or can it be stored at a gun shop until I received my licence? My application is currently at FRC so will take another couple of weeks, I assume. Is there any way, legally of course, that I can store the firearm at my place?

If he cancels the licence now, for instance, by booking it into dealer stock, it will screw with your application. The person who signed your app as seller will no longer be the owner, the shop will.

The seller can apply for his rifle already, supply him/her with your application reference number, then they can include it in their motivation. Their application will most likely "pause" in the consideration phase until your licence for rifle gets approved. (went through similar scenario , except I was the seller in example)
