Re: Colt M16 SPR .22 - Review
Hi all,
This story unfortunately does not have a good ending. There is some good and some bad in the post below.
After the 17th August Steel Challenge I strip the rifle. I come across this:
The barrel has a lateral crack extending halfway around it. And if you are thinking it - no, only normal within spec ammo used. No funny stuff. I think I just got a dud. There are thousands of these weapons internationally that have none of these issues. Obviously I am a bit disappointed however.
It's no use me going through all the steps - the end of this story is that the barrels needs replacing or repairing. Repairing is a no - it's under warranty and I am not willing to accept that. Replacing will mean a new licence in any ways.
So we (myself, shop and importer) have come to an agreement - I will hand it back. Now just to get this one off my name... How the hell does one do this? I normally have stuff added, not taken off!
Thanks to all involved. I will not badmouth anybody here, we could sort it out amicably.
Now back to the shopping! I have the option of buying another .22 AR (My mind is kind of made up already).
Cheers

I would think the gunshop would refund you, book it back into their name and take care of it for you.
