Improve your fundamentals with the "Squares Drill" by URBAN PATRIOT
Hi Guys,
We thought you might find this useful, below is a drill that we call our "Squares Drill", we use this drill to re-train our core fundamentals and draw stroke as part of our training regime.
The idea here is to take it slow at each station, (5m,10m,15m,20m) don't rush your shots, get your shots on target first before increasing the speed from the draw.
This drill is very effective and because you are increasing your distance at each point but yet the target size is staying the same, means that the problem solving gets more difficult, add a bit of intensity to the drill to elevate the heart rate as well as a mag change and the cognitive processing gets really challenging.

Enjoy!

Nice drill. I just want to ask a question: Why do you draw your FA like that? (Draw, bring it to your chest and then push it out to your target)
Is there a specific reason behind it?

Ergonomical and fast: draw the fa and lift your weaker hand to meet it and push it out.

Re: Improve your fundamentals with the "Squares Drill" by URBAN PATRIOT
I would disagree a little... there are other much faster and ergo-friendly methods to draw and present a FA.
The method demonstrated is actually more of a common accepted SD technique. Used to keep the FA closer to your body (where you have more leverage over the FA)... typically to assist with keeping control over, and possession of your FA in close quarter encounters where grappling for the FA may occur.
Essentially, the shooter will be able to start firing from an point from where the FA clears the holster.
