"Rescue" knives...
Guys.
Needing advise on a strong "rescue" knive?
I belong to the National Sea Rescue Institute and we do a lot a lot in Salt water obvioulsy. So that needs to be taken into account.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

surely a good dive knife should suffice? Me Id carry a good leatherman as well. Maybe just spray it with a good lubricant / anti rust spary after every immersion. PS put it on a lanyard so if it drops, its not bye bye.

Hunter00, what are the main use requirements, like cutting Nylon wrope etc etc.
I would imagine having a rescue knife with very good "anti-rust" capabilities would be a requirement because it would save time on maintenance and eventual replacement due to too much rusting.
Without knowing the exact requirements I would suggest either a Spyderco hawkbill folder with H1 steel and pocket clip like the Tasman http://www.knivesplus.com/spyderco-h...lt-knives.html or a straight bladed H1 model
or something with a titanium blade (going to be high end or custom and expensive)
like the Mission Knives MPD http://missionknive.com/index.php?ma...products_id=12 or MPF3 http://missionknive.com/index.php?ma...&products_id=8

Spyderco Tasman with H1 blade. Great for cutting rope ect coz of the hawkbill blade, and the H1 blade can sleep in water it wont mind!
