    Default Ruger Mini-14

Found a Mini-14 182 series in good condition, seems to have lost the scope rings, but the scope mount is intact across the top of the receiver, has the flash hider and bayonet lug.

Could you please share your experience with this rifle, and is there a reason I should consider not buying it.

    Thanks in advance.

At what price? How many mags included? Keep in mind the mags are hell expensive and a mission to find

Has 1 long mag, one short, probably a 30 and a 15 . Seller will supply more, so there will be 3 short and 2 long.

Not saying how much or where, I don't want to lose it.

I know the price is very good, I just want to know of any gotchas with the weapon from someone that has experience with that make and model.

Check out this post, it's brief, but covers the points well.

Most people that have them, like them. Most will also also tell you good mags are expensive and difficult to find, and that mini's aren't very accurate rifles. Most reliability problems are related to bad magazines.

My opinion, buy it, you'll enjoy it. tup

There are sport shooters who are competitive with them and shoot the rifles well in competition.

That may be so, but the Mini-14 has a design fault due to its location and design of the gas port combined with a thin barrel.

As a matter of interest, how so?

My Mini14 which I have had for the last 19 odd years does not know this and has fired quite a few rounds without one ftf or fte.
