Len,

I can't remember the excat dates but I applied for 4 S21 permits in the period before the cut off date when the old licenses would become nul and void. All 4 did not go in together and they went in 2-1-1 IIRC. It took about 2 to 3 months for them to go through the system and be approved.

A coleage recently applied for a S21 and this took him also about 2 to 3 months. I am in Port Elizabeth and we both used a specific Police Station. However other Police Stations in PE does not want to accept such applications.

So it looks like 2 to 3 months is about the norm. Mine has been in for 2 months and status : "For Consideration" for about a month.

I handed mine in on 17 Aug 2009 and it was in for consideration from 18 Sept and only approved on 24 November ....

I just find it amazing that a process that took 5 to 7 days at Provincial level, takes 2 to 3 months at CFR........cfd89
