D.I.Y. Fibre Optic Sight - Done
Hi Guys,
I have been contemplating doing this for a while now and have finally just grit my teeth and took the plunge.
Firstly, note that I am a shooter on a bad budget. I usually have to make the choice between, either an hour or two at the range once, maybe twice a month or upgrading my EDC. So the real deal sights were not an option at the moment. For a while now I have been wanting to upgrade my CZ-75 sights, due to the fact that mine was faded and you could not see the dots anymore. For quite some time, I have been doing the nail polish thing, but wasn't cutting it. Eventually I got this idea from you guys on GS and decided the hell with it, if I bugger it up I wont be able to go to the range for a few months in order to save up for new sights. I have just done the back sights for now...still doing the bright pink Nail polish thing on the front. Any suggestions?
So here is the end result:

That looks quite cool, Hein. What did you do, exactly?
Also, is that an Eliminator cap I see peeking out in the second photo?

Looks fragile, sticking out the back like that. Did you drill and insert them or did you glue them on?
Personally I would have left the rear sight black and focused my efforts on the front sight.Sent electronically, thus not signed.

Re: D.I.Y. Fibre Optic Sight - Done
Thanks!
I bought the replacement Fibre Optic rods from GIC. At first I thought they might be too thick, but the work better than the thinner type. I took the thinnest drill-bit I could find to drill a pilot hole. I used the little indentations where the original red dots were and slowly drilled through. I then took a slightly bigger drill-bit and drilled through, till the size was right. Then I cut the rods shorter. I used a ear cleaning bud and applied a little Superglue on the inside of the holes and positioned the rods and all done. Hope it hold up at the range.
Oh, yes! That is an Eliminator Cap peaking out.
