I took this photo in April while visiting Hiroshima. This is the Hiroshima Peace Memorial, once the Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall. On August 6, 1945, the atomic bomb exploded almost directly above it, destroying nearly everything around — yet this building remained standing. Today, it’s preserved just as it was, a haunting reminder of that day and a symbol of peace for future generations.
