    Default What Broadhead for Bushpigs?

    Good Day

What Broadheads would you recommend for Bushpigs ( day & night) ? I like the 2,3 inch Rage 2blades, will they do?

    Thanks

Stay away from the new Rage Extreme and the Rage K40 but the standard Rage is fine. Remember that a Bushpig is small and compact and a very solid animal with thick bones. If you hit a bone on the entry then the Rage might not stand up to the punch. I would rather suggest a solid two blade or a three blade like a Montec G3.

Personally, I would also stick to fixed blade. But it is not a law for hunting bushpig. I shot mine with a G5 Striker. It zipped through like a hot blade through butter. But I'm also a big Slicktrick fan.

I would rather use a fixed blade. Slicktrick standards would be my choice or even a nice strong 2 blade head.

I get far better penetration with the std Slick trick than with the magnum

Both make the same size holes, but Im a big fan of pass throughs and double blood spoors. Bushpigs can be rather hairy, and the blood sticks to the hair. This is even worse when the shaft of the arrow "plugs" the entry hole.

Does the slick trick really have field point flight?

If your bow is tuned correctly, yes.
