“You bet you’re sorry you nasty thing.”

BY SEAN BROWN / ON SEPTEMBER 4, 2014 AT 11:20 AM
An Arizona widow had her home broken into in early May but wasn’t ready to go down without a fight, so she grabbed her gun then shot the man. The whole incident was captured on audio when she dialed 911.
47-year-old Cynthia was taught how to handle her .38 and shoot by her late husband so she could defend herself if need be. So when she heard a man trying to break into her Phoenix home, she grabbed her gun then went and hid in the bedroom while she phoned police.
The intruder eventually made his way into the home where he tried to attack Cynthia, but she wasn’t having any of it and shot him before police arrived.
Michael Lewis used a weeding tool to gain entry into her home, and his actions would end up with him spending a month in the hospital. He is set to face a judge next month to be sentenced.
Here’s the transcript of the call from AZCentral:
“They’ve tried my front door, my front door, and now they’re trying to break in my back gate…,” Cynthia tells the 911 operator at one point. “I have a gun in my hands. I’m terrified.”
Later, “Somebody is on my back porch.” And then, “Please help me, please!” as the operator assures her that help is on the way.
“They’re coming out as fast as they can,” the operator says. “Have you heard any voices?”
Cynthia: “Hurry, hurry! They’re coming in right now, please, please, please!
As it turns out, the police weren’t coming quickly enough. Lewis broke into the bathroom and started attacking Cynthia. So she shot him.
Lewis: “Ow! (Expletive.) What was that? What was that? What was that? (Expletive) did you do?”
Her answer was classic. “Did you think you could beat me half to death?”
Lewis: “I’m sorry. I’m sorry…”
Cynthia: “You bet you’re sorry you nasty thing.”

Reminds me of the T-shirt that says something like "Why wait for 911 when you have 38, 9, and 45 all waiting on standby".
This lady doesn't take nonsense.

Well done Autie. Just makes me a little more sceptical of the old 38 Special though...

Well done to that lady.
Notice something , he didn't run away screaming at the sight of her handgun. And his respond to getting shot wasn't to vaporize. It was to say "ow". Just another example of why we should ignore some of the gun owner urban myths that get spread.
