Gerber Equipment
After seeing the Gerber Gator Machete on GS, I decided to take a look at Gerber's webpage to see what the machete looks like. There are a lot of equipment that we can use for survival and/or BOB, even some for the 4x4 crew. There are maintenance tools for the shooters as well. Just a pity some of the gear is "credentials required" maybe a dealer can look at this.

Re: Gerber Equipment
Reading the comments on their page was entertaining. The credentials required bit is ridiculous, half that stuff can be bought separately in blister packs in any case.
Their stuff looks good though.

Useless fact: US Navy Seal DEVGRU members are issued with Gerber multitools.

Re: Gerber Equipment

I use Gerber knives and to date have had no problems. Bought my first knife in 2009.

Re: Gerber Equipment
I have a Gerber Multitool, the Suspension, I think.
It's really not great. For its size the blade lengths are very short, the tin opener is as blunt as a table spoon and the pliers have side-to-side play. It does the job but is too expensive for what you get.

Re: Gerber Equipment
I won the small Bear Grylls folder in a competition last week. It is very light and slim compared to my old pocket knife. It is incredibly sharp, and so far I like it. Ok, using it for only one week is not a test in anyone's book. I made a turn at my local outdoor shop and noticed what they sell for. For that price I would've never bought it for myself.

Re: Gerber Equipment
I always had Leatherman multitools, and was repeatedly told by a few mates that Gerber had been around longer and was a better range. When my Charge Ti got liberated, I replaced with some Gerber tools. I was sorry.
