Re: Shopping Mall Robberies Thread
Hi, yes the confirmation is quoted above
Except for the fact that the registration of the car differs in the article, giving both my Twitter version and TGB054GP, but if the make and model are the same and the reg. is one letter off people would hopefully be suspicious at the very least?
One has to wonder what he was doing sitting outside the mall with R200 000 worth of stuff to steal in his car, and how they knew to rob him specifically...

MAN HELD FOR MALL ROBBERIES
A man has been arrested in connection with the spate of mall robberies in Gauteng, police said on Thursday.
"We have information that could possibly link the suspect to up to 17 armed robberies in and around the province," provincial commissioner Lt-Gen Lesetja Mothiba said.
"Some of the cases that the suspect is involved in are cellphone shop robberies in Benoni, Witbank, Vereeniging, Linden, Sandton, Midrand, Lyttelton and Honeydew."
The man, in his 30s, was arrested in Polokwane, Limpopo, on Thursday, apparently while on his way to Zimbabwe.
The man was expected to appear in the Randburg Magistrate's Court, in Johannesburg, soon.

Re: Shopping Mall Robberies Thread
Sorry, it appears no shots fired. Sounds were from a sledge hammer breaking the display glass apparently. There's even holes on the shop window that look like bullet holes but we're told they are from a sledgehammer...

No they robbed a shop down the road and ran towards the mall. While patrolling the complaint came through and was given as a robbery at the mall. The taxi rank sots next to mall where we arrested them and found the guns.
My last day of detached duties in Cape Town tomorrow we going back home.
