What's Next
Remember - when at the range, always have your firearm license on you
and ensure that you have 100% control over your firearm.
Also when not on the firing line, your firearm has to be either holstered or bagged.
Important Notices
New Rifle Range Rules have been posted at the range.
All rifle shooters please read and take note.
Access to Ranges - For Reasons of Safety
Please note that the Tactical Range, located behind the vibracrete wall erected on Range 4 (Main Range), is only for Sport shooting use and use by members vetted by the duty Range Officer or Club Committee.
Visitors and occasional shooters must use Ranges 1, 2 & 3 and the Rifle Range.
For Reasons of Safety
Please note that only approved targets and target stands can be used - anything unusual must first be approved by the duty range officer and a committee member.
Violations will result in serious consequences.
PLEASE PRODUCE YOUR MEMBERSHIP CARD AT THE GATE
We now have new access control personnel at the gate.
They have been instructed to charge Club Members R20 range fee & visitors R50 range fee
If you don't bring your current Club membership card to the range and are therefore unable to prove membership when coming to shoot, you will need to pay the visitors range fee of R50.00.
License/Competency renewals
Remember that the application for renewal must be placed ninety (90) days before the expiry date on the card.
Motivations must be included, particularly for Self Defense licenses. It is advantageous to provide more documentation and information than specifically required. No new documentation or information can be supplied if applicant needs to appeal.
Firearm licence Competency
Issues with Steel Plates
It has come to our attention, once again that there are some inconsiderate heavy calibre and rifle shooters who are shooting at the club's steel plates and seriously damaging them and/or shooting holes right through them.
This is an unacceptable and unsafe practice as well as rendering the damaged plates unsafe for further use.
The plates are custom made for the club at considerable expense and are used by several of the shooting disciplines in matches.
Any person seen or reported as damaging the plates will be fined R150.00 per hole and will be required to pay the replacement cost of the damaged steel.
