    Default Phoning CFR Gauteng Section

To all those with the knowledge:

Question: When I phoned CFR Call Centre yesterday, they informed me that my apps is still in process and it was suggested that I call (numbers received) the Gauteng Section. Why and how can this help? Could it be that the apps was misplaced?

Thanks in advance for all the answers that I will receive.

Hi Castos, I tried calling them all day yesterday and this morning, just get the usual ringing but no answer.

    012 353 6193 - does not work at all.

Competency has been in for 5 weeks, really frustrating this waiting game.

Yip, And you cant get excited with them. Otherwise they might just get out a red stamp. And you have problems with all your applications.

I think if they had to do that they could face legal action.

It should be 6198, I made a typo.

I got through on 6228 and they are finding out what the hiccup is.

I phoned CFR yesterday and was informed that it usually takes 4 weeks from the day that competency has been approved. They also informed me to check back between 6 and 10 Nov when my apps should be approved.

If you're lucky it seems, as my competency was completed on 1 Sept, so mine has been 8 weeks after the fact already...

You must have the magic touch, just rings for me.

According to http://www.timeanddate.com/date/duration.html my Competency application has been in for 78 days, so approaching their 90 day turn around time quickly.

I will be calling them every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the afternoon to check on the status of my apps. I will do this until the 10th and if still nothing continue and phone the Gauteng section again. I phoned them just after 9 and went through all the numbers twice before the picked up on my 3rd attempt.

Question: How long must you wait before you can lodge a query (if you are allowed to query)?

I always call the call center in the evenings, didn't think the different provincial departments operate outside of normal working hours.
