Northern Farms snake sighting - cycling
I've posted this on TheHub as well, but I suspect that Gunsite might have a better chance in IDing the snake on this low quality vid.
Any informed guesses? I wasn't there, and know very little of snakes, but I know the lady who rode the bike. She has no idea what it was.

I saw on Faceboob when the guy uploaded it, and from the poor graphics it does look a lot like a Mozzie. I haven't seen a lot of them much further south than Pretoria though.

Hmm. I think BigT sells snakeshot for these rare occurrences?

Re: Northern Farms snake sighting - cycling
TheHub seems to think that it is a likkewaan's tail. Someone posted the pic below of one that they've seen at Northern Farms previously. The cyclist is a girl I know from cycling. I don't know who was on the bike behind her.

Monitor story seems likely, I have never seen a snake flick it's tail like that.

Re: Northern Farms snake sighting - cycling
IMO definitely a snake. At 8 secs, just before the snake exits the screen, you can see it curled up in a little ball. See below:

According to the girl on the bike it's not a monitor/lizard. She says that they saw it sail away.

The shape and movement definitely suggests monitors tail.
