New to site - 21 y/old female

Hi everyone,

I'm 21 years old (female) and for some time now have been considering equipping myself with a handgun. I have many viable reasons for wanting to do this and have weighed up many pros and cons. In addition, I have been interested in taking up shooting as a sport.

I have now decided to take things a step further and do research into the different handguns available. I have always been a fan of Glock, so I am currently leaning that way. However, I am open to all the options available to me and would like any input regarding what would be the best option for a lady with minimal gun knowledge and experience.

Welcome! You need to check out some vids posted by another female gunsiter on you tube. She happens to be a glock fan too.

Glocks are great, i own one, boringly reliable and plenty spares around should you need. they are a bit on the thick side though, a concern for a female is always the body shape and whether or not that will allow you to conceal a thicker weapon better. Grimmirg on the forums's better half has a G26 too and carries small of her back. perhaps worth getting in touch with them too.

Otherwise something like a smith and wesson shield, single stack 9mm just about disappears on a persons body. Spares arent all that readily available though.
