There was a thread a while ago which discussed the 'psychology of a criminal' ... don't know where it is now though, can't find it.

Some deeply disturbing insights in some of the articles posted. Predators (who prey on the weak amongst us) do not think like we do...

You'll be surprised how little a deterrent capital punishment is.

This is what happens when there are no hard targets.

I never watch the show, but my mother phoned me yesterday to watch 3-Talk. They had a discussion on the death penalty. There were lots of arguments pro and against it. People who were against it said what if a poor person who cannot afford the best laywer gets the injection, but was not even quilty in the first place. That is a good point.
One lady that was for the death penalty, who was herself a rape victim, said there are those who cannot be rehabilitated. She mentioned a case where someone who killed was sentenched to 10 years, got out on parole, and killed in the same month. She feels the death penalty must be made an option for people like that.

There is just no end to the cruelness of a criminal.
I bet that the case will just go cold (again).
    Condolences.

Victims of circumstance, or a bit of both

Either which way they need to be put down like a rabid dog, if not by the victim, then by the state.

Due to the fact that the Constitution is the supreme law of the country, and guarantees the right to life - the death penalty is something that will not come back into existence as long as the Constitution exists...

This is why females need to take further measures to be able to defend themselves! I can almost guarantee that the rape stats will drop dramatically if every female EDCs (and is properly trained, of course!)...

Off topic question: do you really trust the ANC, with their overwhelming parliamentary majority and control of the state, with the power of capital punishment?

You may end up seeing the wrong people hang for the wrong reasons before too long, mark my words.
