Robber shot dead by wounded home owner

Johannesburg - A youth was shot and killed when a Lenasia home owner confronted a gang of intruders in his house, Johannesburg police said on Monday.
"A group of boys went into a house in Lenasia Ext 13 and shot the house owner. He had a gun and shot back," said Warrant Officer Kay Makhubele.
The house owner managed to hit one of the intruders while three others managed to escape. The robber died at the scene of the crime.
The wounded house owner was taken to hospital.

"A case of attempted house robbery and attempted murder has been opened.
"We appeal to anyone who might have information on the group to contact their local police," Makhubele said.

For all the win for the victim fighting back. In the archives of history it will only be counted as a kid killed with a gun.

At least it is another good guy walking and telling his story of how a gun saved his life.

If you read the News24 comments there is overwhelming support for the homeowner. Seems to be a disconnect for support for defending yourself when attacked and the right to own/carry firearms.
