Default Aussie cops need guns as it turns out.

    http://www.9news.com.au/national/201...amateur-vision

This was sent to me by an ex-Saffer turned Australian policeman. I wont say where in Oz he serves as i don't want to get him in trouble. He tells me a few very worrying things.

    1) their training is poor. They carry G22 or G23 depending on services, but do a 50 round training shoot once a year. He served in another defence force (not oz or rsa) and uses that training for duty.

    2) violent crime gets worse every year due to a number if factors. Increased yobberism from the local oz youth, immigrants refusing to assimilate and coming into conflict with ozzie cultural norms, high levels of substance abuse, etc

I get regular messages and phone calls from him asking about edc. Things we take for granted like drawing techniques, sights and their use (he was trained with USP's and finds the standard glock slot fillers appalling, they are in no way allowed to alter or change duty gear for legal reasons) and recoil control on the 40. He has joined a local ipsc club and will be getting a glock 22 to compete with but really its additional training at his own expense to stay alive.

Think about that when you consider moving to "crime free, unarmed Australia.

Yeah, and you can't even carry a locking folder, it's seen as a fixed blade and therefore super dangerous and illegal.

Wait what? So half of the new Victorinox pocket knives would be illegal too?

Yep well that's what I have been saying for a while now. Come to Australia where you are not allowed to defend yourself. If you use any kind of weapon even a victorinox pocket knife you are going to need a good lawyer. The drug problem here is getting pretty bad some hospitals even have wards dedicated to dealing with people on drugs. Mainly crystal meth.
The divide between immigrants and Aussies is getting worse due to a few things I won't go into. Gangs of young people wander around the streets trying to be like the gangs in America ( because it's the cool thing to do apparently.) The silent majority just sit quietly to scared to say anything because as soon as you say something the race card gets played very quickly.

As for the police there are many good police here. But they are trying to do the job with one hand tied behind their back.

If you do move to Australia please bring some common sense with you we are running low.

Most of the larger ones now have a locking mechanism for the blade and maybe one or two other implements :(
