Rashoop 600 m Day 16 Dec

I remember someone organised something like this a few years ago at Rashoop (might have been Mic). I have never shot at these distances, would be fun.

I can try arrange with Louis that we set up the firing line at 600 m on that day if there is enough interest. Anyone know whether he is still in charge there?

If someone can bring a chrony that would be lekker as well. I'll bring a laptop with basic ballistic software, we can then use the muzzle velocities as input and try to ring some steel. I've got some round steel targets, will hang a few from a frame so that we don't have to drive up to reset them all the time.

Early start is better, 7-ish.

Contact Mic. He did organize it last time, and AFAIk he made it an old .303 shoot. I was unable to make it (and won't make it this time either, unfortunately), but I can almost promise you Mic and possibly even Sands will be there. Awesome people, you have no idea.

loopsoostroop, go for it. I assume you have Louis's phone number so just confirm with him. We used to have some of these long range shoots on a Sunday, but we cannot shoot on Rashoop on a Sunday anymore. The 16th December 2014 is on a Tuesday so it should not be a problem.

Toxxyc, it was not only a 303 shoot. I just brought along my old 303 in original condition and did manage to hit those plates out to 600 yards eventually. Also managed a hit with my 7x57 Parker-Hale hunting rifle. Then I can remember someone with a steyr mannlicher
338 Lapua who decimated those plates with impunity. Another friend with a 338 Win Mag also brought down those plates, along with a Howa 308.

Unfortunately myself and my wife will not be able to attend as we are already in Mosselbay having a great holiday. We did manage a great night shoot with the guys from the GSSC SADPA club. Awesome.

It was me with the howa was a lot of fun managed a 5 shot group in a idpa A zone that day. I would very much like to take out my AR10 that day. Also want to check what my new scout rifle does out to those distances. Just by the way ot os not a 600m range it is a 600 yard range
