Cleaning material for dies

Hi Everyone,

Need some advice on which cleaning material to use to clean my reloading dies.

Is it ok just to soak them in a solvent like parafin, or do you use something else?

Thinners, paper clip and cotton buds

I use the same but also put a nylon bore brush through them to work out some of the crude.

I have heard of the paraffin as well, it has an oil base, so should not give any issues.

Interested to hear the more experienced guys' comments as well though.

Carb cleaner and earbud

I soak in paraffin and scrub with toothbrush if necessary. If they are Lee dies just remember to remove the rubber O-ring before soaking them

This is perhaps a noob question as I have no reloading experience, but will our fancy gun cleaning liquids not be up to the challenge. Maybe just some Trisol spray?

Carb cleaner and earbud

And a kiddie tooth brush.

Drop mine in the sonic cleaner and afterwards spray it with Fluid Film
