SA’s Top Vet Murdered

Top veterinarian, Dr Rensia DeWet, was found half naked and stabbed to death in her Nottinghill Equestrian Estate home, said Mpumalanga police on Thursday.
“She was found with stab wounds on the head, neck and breast,” said police spokesperson Brigadier Selvy Mohlala.
According to Mohlala, DeWet may have been killed on Tuesday, but a post-mortem will be conducted to confirm this.
She was found half naked in her bedroom.
The house had been ransacked but it was unclear what was taken or missing.
“We are still investigating to establish if she was raped,” said Mohlala. “The house was ransacked and everything was upside down. It appears the motive might have been robbery.”
No arrests have yet been made.
Police have appealed to the public to come forward with any information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.
