Man executed for Easter rising, more to his service in the Boer war than anything.
"MacBride would famously die in the execution of leaders of the Easter Rising. He wasn't involved in the planning or leadership of the event at all, only becoming involved because he happen to be in Dublin for the wedding of his brother. His execution probably owed more to his service in the Boer War than anything he did in Dublin."

It's interesting how men will flock to war.
Was a good read.
Makes me wonder who will judge the Warriors of the ISIS war.

Interestingly as well the Russians also supported the Boers against the English. There is a memorial service at the JHB Russian Orthodox church once a year in Memorial of the Russians that fought the English alongside the Boers. A lot of people think the Germans were the ones to "invent" the concentration camps when all along the English were the ones.

If I may correct you there. This is also a misconception held onto in SA. The British did indeed place people in camps, but they were not the first people to do so. It was in fact the Americans who created these camps in the early 1800's to imprison Indians. They used them again during the civil war.
