    Default Airline/personal protection firearm

    Hi All

My apologies if I am asking for information that has been posted before but I am in a crisis and I can't seem to find the information that I am looking for. I need to travel via airline urgently with a friend to assist after a farm attack today and I can't seem to find an airline that will allow a weapon classified for personal protection. It seems to be hunting gear or nothing at all.

Please point me in the right direction if there is any.

    Thank you so much.
    A.

SAA. They are the best bet.
    Else RAM couriers.

Only option for handguns is SAA

    http://www.flysaa.com/na/en/flyingSA.../firearms.html

Airlink and SA Express will allow rifles and shotguns on certain routes.

It does unfortunately state that no self defense firearms are allowed.

As far as I know the OP uses it more at the range than in anger, so it is probably more of a sporting pistol..?

Having worried about that myself in the past, I can happily say that no-one checks for or knows the difference. That's good, because there is no difference.

+1. Honestly, I doubt they'll know the difference. Just state you're going to shoot a match in x.

It is so damn weird that they would want to stop self defense, but sport is cool.. which of those things are more important? Stupid bloody people.

I am speaking under correction, but as far as my knowledge goes if you fly locally then a SD weapon is allowed. It is only for international flights that SD won't be allowed. Best would be to phone and find out.

    SAA

    What route are you flying

As said above make sure not airlink or express as they will not fly a handgun
