Apparently there was a porno made of the book before Hollywood got hold of it, and rumour has it it is actually pretty good. IIRC something about court cases and cease and desist orders.

Regarding the book, Sir Salman Rushdie said that he has never read anything worse that has been put into print. And that it made Twilight look like War and Peace. (Ouch)
