    Default Squib Load

Went through all my video clips this weekend and discovered these two squib loads! Scary stuff indeed.
In both the rollie and the Glock the dreadful second shot was not fired.

Do you have any specific tools to remove squibs or do you just freestyle it like most of us?

I carry a brass cleaning rod in my range bad for this purpose. Lots of my fellow shooters have used it, myself included. Can also be used to dislodge a stuck cartridge from the chamber if needed.

What causes squib loads, other than an isufficient powder charge?

cleaning rod plus a brick/stone/something hard seems to be the norm.

Wet powder can also be the cause, and I've seen it happen where guys clean their brass with water (ultrasonic, shaking in a bottle, etc. etc.) and then the cases doesn't dry out properly. Case is loaded normally and then squibs happen. Therefore I run my cases over with a hair dryer if they get wet. I dry them until they get so hot you can't touch them, and then shake them in a cloth bag until completely dry.

I have a long screwdriver in my bag, not ideal but it works fine.
