Kaptein L , I just used the plastic hooks for now, since I do not have forged hooks available..but we will forge hooks in the camp fire using old wagon wheel nails...this is just to show what the dryer looks like... if we are not able to forge hooks, we will use thorns or plait grass strings...
Hi I am just joking with you never thought of plaited grass as biltong hooks goes to show.

I have completed the second camping chair today, as well as the "long drop" ...now all that is remaining is the preparations and packing for the hunt. We will be leaving at Saturday morning very early for Nylstroom to upload the ox wagon for a seventy kilometers trip to the hunting camp. Saturday will be used to erect the camp with all the necessities , like digging a whole for the "long drop" , clearing a camping spot for the tents, clearing some surface for the fire /kitchen spot.....and a lot of chores still to be done...

Here are photos of the camp site: It will be a little dryer than in the photos but this is what the camp site is looking like.
