Not necessarily 'tactical' but you may be interested you to hear that Rooikraal Range (between Joeys and Heidelberg) are planning on building a 1000m range before the end of 2015. From the horse's mouth, Pierre Bouwer

Very cool... if I recall correctly they have a 200m bench-rest range.

I haven't shot there yet but visited t'other day to check out the amenities. Very nice! I'm sure he said their rifle range is 300m but could be wrong.

They currently have 100m, 200m and 300m ranges. Not to mention all the pistol ranges.

They have been planning it for some time now but I have yet to see some progress. When do they plan to start building and in what direction will it be?
