Rimfire Optics-Advice?
Hi Gents
I have acquired a BRNO mod 2-E rifle and want to put new glass on it. It currently has a Nikko Stirling 4x32 on it but I want to get something a little better. The rifle will mainly be used for Target shooting off the bench and plinking, maybe some silhouette at a later stage.
Any advice on how, where and what to look at for a rimfire optic? I would like to get Bushnell (I particularly like this one: http://www.bushnell.com/all-products...tics/2-7x-32mm) but im open to any advice.
Thanks

Re: Rimfire Optics-Advice?
Nikon Prostaff has a dedicated rimfire scope. As has Redfield. I went for a Hawke Side Focus though, on my Savage Mark II TR .22 LR rifle, and I Love it. It can focus as close as 8 meters.

Re: Rimfire Optics-Advice?
Must say theres nothing wrong with the 4x32 fixed nikko sterling. Nice for practice at 50 meter equates nicely to what i see with my 9x scope on my hunting rifle at 100 meter and over.
Although.... The crosshairs could have been thinner

Re: Rimfire Optics-Advice?
I am shooting silhouettes for many years now. Most people that are serious about the sport don't put on a low powered scopes, or bargain priced cheap scopes. Many guys, and girls like the Leupold 6.5-20X40 EFR scope. I did not get one myself because I did want a side focus. I would recommend any good brand scope with at minimum 12X magnification and target turrets. You do need the target turrets to adjust for distance. And if you buy a cheap scope, it will just frustrate you, because constant adjustments will not be repeatable and your POI will shift. I've heard it many times, and experienced it myself. ''What the heck is wrong? Last Saturday this rifle was shooting spot on''
Pay once, cry once.
