As we all know, civil unrest seems to have become a daily occurrence in South Africa. The question is asked frequently on when we can legally act to defend life and property. We would all like the answer to this to be clear and easy to apply but unfortunately every incident has many variables, creating massive grey areas and much uncertainty.

Generally, the sooner we act in any threatening situation, the better our chances of coming out in one piece. However, we would also like to come out legally and financially on top. The only solution is to have more options. Having a non lethal option that can be deployed sooner in a confrontation may make a huge difference. Uncertainty and delayed action can cost you dearly.

Pepperball systems are just one of the many options. Advantages are that you can deploy them sooner when there is an obvious threat but you are still uncertain whether lethal force is warranted. They can be deployed at a distance that other non lethal options can never hope to match. They are guaranteed non lethal so swift robust action will never lead to an unwanted fatality.
