As part of our kiddies range bag initiative (http://www.gunsite.co.za/forums/show...ies-range-bags), we were faced with the question of how to make the four basic gun rules relevant for kids who join you at the range, but might not even get time with the firearm. So we translated it to concepts that are more relevant at their level. For instance, "don't point the muzzle at anything you are not willing to destroy", translates to an explanation of the firing line, safe and no-go areas.

As you can see the outer layer starts with some positive uses of firearms. In the next layer they can link the icons representing the rules to the condensed wording of the rules. When they open up the last layer, they'll find more detail on what that rule means to them specifically, like described previously.

Again, this is not meant to be the definitive guide to firearm safety for kids, but merely another tool in the hand of the responsible parent.
