    Vehicle recovery? Good job SAPS. I certainly would have a warm feeling knowing that the scum who stole/hijacked my car got the shyte shot out of them and came to an unceremonious stop. But if it's all the same to you the insurers can keep the car. Those shots though? There was traffic beyond that vehicle...

    It is to the insurer's benefit. We get to salvage the vehicle to a salvage yard and recoup at least some of the loss, whereas if they get away we lose the entire vehicle value due to the claim pay-out.
