Re: Need help choosing a new EDC folder
I'm not entirely opposed to Spyderco, to be honest. Both the Cara Cara 2 and the Tenacious are epic choices. iWarehouse has knives like the Cara Cara for very cheap, and Spyderco is damn awesome. They offer things like G10 scales and an excellent, secure locking mechanism for a good price.
This is harder than picking a pistol for EDC.

Re: Need help choosing a new EDC folder
Cara Cara 2 gets a vote from me. I carried mine for years! Have a Tenacious now and love it.
Would still carry my Cara Cara if it hadn't grown legs....

Not in your list.
Coldsteel Raja2. Can be configured for left side carry. Tip up for wave function or down if you so choose.
They are a little over a grand.
Strong and nice recurve style blade.

Re: Need help choosing a new EDC folder
Cheap and reliable?
Enlan Harrier or Kestrel.
The Harrier is an Axis lock like the benchmade, the Kestrel an unassisted flipper.

Re: Need help choosing a new EDC folder
I use to carry a kershaw S30v Blur or coldsteel AK47 mini. A year ago i bought a Spyderco Endura 4 and has not touched my other knives. Look at the endura if the large blade is not for you.
They a bit higher priced but sold at great prices at Griffin tactical.

Need help choosing a new EDC folder
Kershaw Blur is a fantastic EDC, I know you said it's a bit out of your budget but if you can find a used one, jump on it. I alternate between my Blur and also a Kershaw Whirlwind. The Whirlwind is also a good option, nice big blade with SpeedAssist opening.

Re: Need help choosing a new EDC folder
Volt all the way, will just have to adjust for right side carry far as I know, maybe take a gander at the Free fall as well if it hasn't been suggested before
