Re: Need help choosing a new EDC folder
I did. Price is a bit too high for me though.
Also, why is Sharp Edge so much more expensive for the same knives than NextField? Knives like the Kershaw Clash is R499 at NextField but R664 at Sharp Edge. Sharp Edge was going to be my first choice in buying knives but sho, that's a lot more. :(

Re: Need help choosing a new EDC folder
Tough choice, I'm quite happy with my Gerber Metoilius folder.
BUT:
1. doesn't have assisted opening
2. the hook sometimes gets caught
3. quite bulky

Re: Need help choosing a new EDC folder
Anyone know where else I could possibly pick up a ZT 0350 SW/KW i.e. the silver blade version without the cheesy carbon fiber handle?
SharpEdge and iWarehouse don't seem to have them?

Re: Need help choosing a new EDC folder
I just bought the Kershaw Funxion today.
Looks like a very decent knife. Might start to carry it everyday, but it looks really good for hiking and camping.
very sharp and it opens really nicely!

Re: Need help choosing a new EDC folder
I'm also actually looking for something atm, but budget is tight this month. Want to get something semi-cheap and upgrade later. Sorry for hi-jacking thread toxxy :p
Are any of these 2 knives good enough to consider as a temporary option (2 - 3 months):
http://www.iwarehouse.co.za/knives-m...folding-knife/
http://www.iwarehouse.co.za/knives-m...lain-serrated/
http://www.iwarehouse.co.za/knives-m...folding-knife/
Otherwise... What do I get for +-R300? I see none of these above have automatic quick opening. Any suggestions would be nice :)

Re: Need help choosing a new EDC folder
^ I dislike rubber on my pocket knives (my Kershaw K1014 is perfect with the soft rubber grip), so the S&W knife is out for me. The other two are good, but between them I'd choose the Cara Cara.
For assisted opening you'll need to up your budget a bit. Kershaw's assisted opening knives start at around R500 (some a little bit cheaper, but not much) and CRKT's assisted opening knives start at R449 for what I think is called the CRKT "Notorious". Also an excellent knife, if it follows CRKT's build quality.

Re: Need help choosing a new EDC folder
Saw a Kershaw Junkyard Dog online this morning. That is a nice looking knife. Not sure of pricing though.

Re: Need help choosing a new EDC folder
Haha patience, good Sir!
I haven't got anything yet. NextField in Centurion Mall is closed for now - they're doing revamps. Didn't know about it until I got there - really disappointed. I had my heart set on the Kershaw Clash. That being said there's an Emerson CQC-8K for sale by, um, it's hard to say this, that Fortis Group store. For a good price, actually. Just don't know if I want to support them.
