www.tacticalquartermaster.co.za Compact Pocket Water Filter
Ideal for your go-bag, camping, hiking or any outdoor activity where you may need to purify water on the go, this little water filter is extremely compact and lightweight. Literally pocket-sized it only weighs 194 grams – inside the packaging!
Not only does the ceramic filter remove living micro-biological pathogens such as cholera and E. coli, organic microscopic pathogens, pesticides, heavy metals, chlorine and other impurities, it also improves the taste of the water.
Replacement cartridges are available and the cartridge needs to be replaced after every approximately 1500 litres (this is dependent on just how dirty the source water is).

Re: www.tacqm.co.za Compact Pocket Water Filter
Has anyone used this? I'm looking for some portable water purification and this seems like a viable option.

We have sold quite a few and have had no reports of problems.
It is nice and compact, fits easily into a pocket.

Re: www.tacqm.co.za Compact Pocket Water Filter
Tested mine in dodgy aquarium water today and I'm happy with the result. Diluted fish poop into the one end and clean water out the other. The cleaned water does have a bit of a ceramic taste to it but its nothing compared to water purification tabs.
It did not take much "pumping" to fill a glass and it was easy to clean.
Disclaimer: I'm no expert on these things and have not tested other purification gadgets. After testing I chose this for a motorbike trip up north as I prefer it over water tabs. It's light & compact without being fragile.
Here is a pic with a zippo next to it on a 10.1" tablet so you can get an idea of the size.

EDIT: Ignore the bit about the taste. I RTFM after using it and I was supposed to discard the first .5L due to it being new which is probably why it had a slight taste to it.

Thanks for the feedback 123.
Avoid sticking the intake tube directly into mud or sand. That way you will extend the life of the filter.
Travel Safe.
