Default Taxi driver saves motorist in KZN

A man was sitting in traffic near Pinetown just after 17:00.
Two BG's pressed a knife against his throat, and tried to pull him from his car.
A taxi-driver sitting nearby in the traffic approached them with a drawn gun and chased them off.

Well done to those citizens, particularly the armed taxi driver.

Surprised no shots were fired. No need, no bullets, not in legal possession, too risky to take the shot or didn't want his firearm confiscated for ballistic testing?

If the driver had a firearm things could have turned out very different, you are struggling with the knife wielders manage to get your firearm out, look up and see someone approaching with a gun............very glad he is okay and extremely impressed that he was helped by a taxi driver and co, well done!!

could have indeed. Imagine getting hijacked and a guy jumps out of a taxi running at you with a gun in hand. If you're going to draw under those conditions, you've got some pretty quick summing up to do...

Sorry, I don't understand. Are you guys saying it would be a bad thing to shoot the taxi driver?

Most taxi drivers, not all, have no respect for the law. I am not comfortable with the fact that some of them, that break the law on a daily basis, are possibly armed. They have short tempers and if you might hoot at a taxi driver skipping a red robot......

But kudos to this taxi driver. He did good. Give credit where it is due.

Given the situation I reckon the victim was pretty stoked with that taxi driver....
