where exactly do you apply the ballistol and do you remove the bolt when doing this.

i find my 15-22 gets very dirty at the bottom of the trigger assembly, any tips/tricks to clean this?

Cmh sells a product called trigger clean. I just spray that.

I'm a lazy sod. I open the dust cover, lock the bolt back and spray away! I then let the bolt forward a give it a short spray. Thereafter I cycle the heck out of it to make sure the oil gets spread over and the excess works out as well.

This is hardly a cleaning routine - more the "lazy-shooters-guide-to-preventing-stoppages-with-cheap-22-ammo-prior-to-a-range-session".

I mentioned previously that the only time my 15-22 got a semi-decent clean was after MRST did the bolt face inspection for me. I've cleaned the barrel once that I can recall. If I type any more I might guilt myself into cleaning it.

Well. This thread has been neglected thanks to the advent of coof, lockdowns, riots and all the rest.

Oh what fun the last few years have been!

Anyhoo, treated 15-22 to some ASE love and tossed in a Holosun for good measure.

Pics, because posts without them are worthless.

And I still haven't cleaned my trigger group. The closest I get to cleaning is to clean the bolt and breechface and the re-lube the bolt and trigger. LoL

Nope it's the standard handguard. This is the older model.

Jeepers, is cleaning the trigger group even a thing? Well, I'll pretend I didn't hear that.

    Guys, howzit..

So I fetched my 15-22 today... And it's the 2nd time iv shot it since I purchased it last July.

Anyway the day I purchased it I got a box of Winchester X something something it's a high velocity round and didn't have any issues..

Today I purchased some standard velocity CCIs and I had extraction issues, not extracting the spent round which in turn was feeding the next round properly...

Gave the gun an oil and clean and the issue was still there but not every 5 odd rounds as before.

Then I tried the last bit of those Winchesters and 30 rounds fired without issues at all. Are these 15-22s fussy? I thought they would eat anything? Would love to hear your experiences.

I found some winchester wildcats and S&B high velocity rounds too... Both say high velocity on the box..will try on Thursday and revert...
