G19/G26, AIWB carry and different types of clothing
Good day guys, currently process of getting a FA for SD.
Im no expert at all when it comes to holsters and have almost no idea about what the different options are.
The problem I'm sitting with is that the work I do doesn't allow me to carry at the 3'o clock position due to printing.
Im looking at appendix carry but want to now if there is a single holster that can be used for carrying with a tucked shirt (work) and then with a untucked shirt (off duty) and different belt sizes?. At work I will be wearing a broad belt (5cm) and off duty a narrower belt (3.4cm) due my casual pant's belt loops being smaller.
Also, is there a way of concealing the holster clips on your belt when carrying with a tucked shirt.
Thanks in advance
S

Re: G19/G26, AIWB carry and different types of clothing
Shelv, a few things come to mind.
1. Dress around the gun. Get other pants to which you can wear a wider belt if need be, but see to it that you have a good belt. Either a true tactical belt (Hailstorm etc) or a stitched, double leather belt of 5mm thick. Single ply leather belts do not work, even if thick. A proper belt of 34mm-37mm wide and 5mm thick can be pushed through most regular belt loops with a little patience and force.
2. Even a tucked shirt can be made to hang slightly over the belt, concealing the belt clips, firearm etc.
3. Most clips on holsters are large enough for different belt sizes.
4. Get dull, dark clips. Shiny clips catch the eye.
5. Consider the Raven Vanguard 2.

Re: G19/G26, AIWB carry and different types of clothing
Most of who have been carrying for a reasonable amount of time (like several years) have a box full of discarded holsters due to trying to get the optimal carry set-up and due to new and better set-ups becoming available from time to time.
Imo it is very difficult for one person to advise another on what carry set-up is the most ideal. It is a very personal thing and depending on the fact if you are making a life style decision I predict you will probably go through the same process in the years to come and after you statrted carrying.
You will get good but widely diverse opinions and suggestions on what to do - good luck.
The really good holsters are not cheap so keep that in mind.

Try the Remora sticky holster.
Great for Aiwb and no clips.

Have a look at tge Raven Vanguard V2. I've heard it's not advisable to carry G19 one up in a sticky holdster.

Is it your first time carrying a gun? And are you used to handguns?
You need excellent trigger discipline when carry appendix
Something to think about

+1 on pdh. Not a great idea for a newby
What about 6 o'clock/Small of Back if 3/4 o clock position doesn't work? It is a sub optimal position, but its better than nothing

Yes, this will be the first time that I will be carrying a fire arm. I shoot with handguns quite regularly though.
