    Talking Gecado

    Dear all

i have vivid memories of my dad having a spring (not sure if this is correct term) handgun. ...about 25 years ago. It was my first experience firing anything...ever since I've been hooked on anything gun related. So as an teenager I spent all my pocket money on the Gamo.. glock replica ..and h&K airguns......until I eventually could get into the real stuff...

I'm pretty sure the gun my dad played with in the fields was called gecado..it shot round projectiles (we use to call them ironies)I would love to have one...for some reason it reminds me of him....

anyone willing to to shed light on the gecado handgun and where can I purchase one will be really helpful.

looking foward to hearing I can buy this

    thanks

Gecado handguns are almost impossible to find, I at one stage owned a Gecado 30 and 50 both rifles, and could not find a handgun to fill the collection.
Landed up with Valk great old pellet gun, also have Daisy that works well... The new airsoft though are just unbelievable scary shit.

Hi rick. Thanks for reply. Google searches are not showing much as well. I guess a daisy would do as well. The plastic contemporary ones are not interesting me...

it's like the Mitchell 489!coffee grinders ( for fisherman)... A certain nostalgia associated with this era gecado....Mitchell reels that can't be replaced....

rick..what's the chances of finding a daisy

    thanks again

Probably a Gecado Mod.6. Also Diana. I had a Mod 35 as a kid, shot my mates 50E often and had occasion to shoot a .22 Gecado. I loved my 35.....wish I still had it. I'm sure it was meant to use .177 cal lead pellets and not BB's......or ironies. If you remember ironies....do you remember marlies......(maalies)? Goens (goons)?

    Is it like this.......?

Hi fumbles. Thank you. It was full black in color. Metal grip. Shorter handgun look.im pretty sure it fired a projectile that was round. It took one load a time.

    Thanks again...

cant seem hem to recall goons or marlins.

    Hi Zaheer,

Was it not one of these bad boys?
I bought one about 10 years ago for R80 at a 2nd hand shop.
