Anything from 3 potatoes to a naartjie.

Unfortunately those seem to be CFR's measure of time.

GoSA may be able to help you?

I waited 3 months for my one app after the comp was approved.

In truth, CFR is too unpredictable. Could be a week, could be 4 months.

    Its a very frustrating time.

My S13 renewal was approved on the 11th of March this year. Still waiting for the card, and from what I have read lately, might have to wait another 2 months. I was at the station today, and the officer there said that they have not received any cards for the past 3 weeks.

Licence was approved mid August………. still waiting for the damn card
all the DFO says is "you will just have to wait"
can't do application for a reprint or duplicate as he has applications like that, that is
    outstanding for two years now.
Finally received my card today. all 4 of them
apparently my dfo applied for reprint after reprint, and when it
finally came through today i received 4 cards for one gun.

Ahh, lovely, so I'm probably in for the same wait. My lic was apparently approved 13/03 but no sign of a card yet.

My applications have been in for over 104 working days as per the SAPS system, and my Competency has been in Consideration since 12/03. Finally got hold of a Major today who said they have a backlog of over 2 000 apps and they will get to mine as soon as they can. Now just received an SMS that my License is receiving attention so called and found out that my Competency has FINALLY been approved. Any idea how long the next step in the process takes? I submitted Competency and License apps together through my DFO.

@Yanky1 Seems like the current average is about 6-7 months for a completely new app which includes competency and license.

    Ride it out brother!

Contacted the CFR and they have advised that the License is in for consideration and I should allow for another 90 working days for this process. This surely can't be true???? Both License and Competency were submitted together in November.

Good luck. I have waited almost 7 months for my O/U. I think it also depends on where you are situated. Applications for a pump action and revolver has only been sent to the Provincial DFO after it was lying for 7 weeks at our local DFO! It makes me mad!!
