Default Spyderco Native 5 vs. Delica 4 FFG

I currently own both a Spyderco PM2 and a Delica 4 with saber grind. I'm keen to buy another Spyderco which is a tad smaller than the PM2 and it has to also have a fully flat ground blade. I've narrowed it down to the Delica 4 FFG and the Native 5, which both have a fully flat ground blades. I love the size, weight and ergonomics of the Delica 4, but I'm quite intrested in the Native, although I've never actually physically seen or handled one. If any of the forum members which own either, or even both, of the knives in question can give their options on which one they prefer and why, I'd greatly appreciate it. Any recommendations for another Spyderco model which is roughly the same size as the models in question and which also has a FFG blade would also be appreciated.

I was looking at the G10 model, wasn't even aware that there is a lightweight model. Any input will be appreciated

The native is a very attractive looking knife, I would love to own one. I have a PM2 and a Delica 4 FFG, I love both of them. I would suggest getting the native seeing as you already have a Delica.

With my limited knowledge ( full disclosure ) I would go with the Native

Purely because of the higher quality steel, handle width will provide a slightly better grip ( personal preference ) available in the same material as the Delica and abundance of good reviews

Plus I saw a Native lw which is round about the same price as the Delica recently

Best thing to do though is try source an example of Both to fiddle with, will provide all the evidence you need to make Your final choice

Anyone know of any shops in the Cape Town area that stock a variety of Spyderco's? I have yet to find a shop that stocks the Native 5 so that I might have a closer look at it and see if I like the knife's ergonomics etc.

I would take the Manix 2 over the Native 5. Had the Native, awesome little utility knife but just a tad too small. The Manix 2 in lightweight you can get with the S110V blade which is awesome and at a fair price.

The FRN Native with S30 is very nice and lightweight. Take off the pocket clip and it fits anywhere for “concealment”. It fits well into your jeans “change” pocket without the clip. Small enough to not bother you or to give sheeple a fright, yet big enough to count.

Try Drifters in Cape Town – their Spydies are very well priced

I have a small Native, no idea which one, it has "CPM S30V" stamped on the lower portion of the blade.

I enjoyed it and it was my go to utility blade until I got the stretch.

Edge retention is pretty good imho.
    Very lightweight.

Have a look at the Stretch, you might like it.
