Re: Bullet performance data base
Sierra 6mm 90gr Tipped Game King (GameChanger) from my 243 Win recovered from a blesbok.
Broadside shot at around 150m. Impact was behind the shoulder, recovered on the opposite side under the hide.
Recovered weight 57.5gr (64% weight retention).
MV 2920 ft/s. 4 blesbok between 120m - 250m, quartering away and broadside shots, this was the only bullet that did not exit using the 243 Win.
I also load the 140gr version in my 6.5 PRC at 2930 ft/s. Over 5 blesbok, also between 120m - 250m, head and body shots all passed through. I also took a zebra at 280m with a broadside shot and bullet was caught under the hide on the opposite shoulder but did not record the retention weight unfortunately.
All the body shot animals taken did not run more than a mere 20 meters before tumbling over with both calibers with the exception of the zebra. She ran +- 100m before going down.
Overall I am very pleased with these bullets, meat damage was minimal when not hitting shoulder bone and the penetration was exceptional considering these are not bonded bullets.20260516_151903.jpg20260516_151850.jpg
