Re: Bullet performance data base
Very nice! I get a kick out of nice groups with my home brewed cast and powdercoated rifle bullets so I can only imagine how satisfying it must be doing it with field proven hunting bullets that you've made yourself.

400gr Aframe fired from a 404J @50m into an old buffalo bull, quartering to, through shoulder. Recovered under offside skin. You can see some bone embedded in the lead.

Re: Bullet performance data base
90gr Hornady CX out of a 6mm Creedmoor at ±3100fps.
Recovered from a blesbuck ram shot at ±250m. Blesbuck was angling away. Bullet entered just behind right shoulder and was recovered under the skin in front of the left shoulder, after breaking the spine where it dips down in front of the shoulders.
Retained weight: 89.6 gr (99.5%).

Re: Bullet performance data base
I hunted two blesbuck rams this morning, using my 6mm CM loaded with 85gr SBC bullets at ±3200fps.
First ram was shot at ±340m, he was broadside and bullet exited.
Second ram was at ±320m and quartering on. I was aiming just in front of the shoulder but misread the wind and hit him on the shoulder. The bullet exited in front of the opposite hindleg. He ran ±50m, before going down.
Blesbuck 1, just before sunrise.
Blesbuck 2.
Entry wound, blesbuck 2.
Blesbuck 2.

Just out of interest that combo of yours what would you say would be the biggest animals you would be comfortable to harvest with?
