    Wild en wakker skiet:
A range where the public can try out semi Auto FN rifles, .223 semis and various handguns. Rifles and ammo provided and you pay only for the ammo.

    Boer and Brit shoot:
As usual we end the day with the Boer and Brit falling plate event.
Martini Henry shoot is incorporated into this now.
    There are four categories:

    Anglo Boer war I:
    Martini henry rifles.

    Anglo-Boer war II:
    Manual action iron sights.

    World War II:
    Manual action telescopic sights.

Looking forward to this: Its like Oppikoppi with.......guns!

This is an annual event and has been going for 10 or more years I understand. Sports adventure shooting has been running the handgun range since 2011 iirc.

The highlight is the Boer vs Brit Shoot...it LOUD and very exciting and makes for great spectator value.
Recent studies show that 1 out of every 3 liberals are just as dumb as the other 2

Is there perhaps any video/promotional material for this festival? I will most likely not be able to attend, but would love to see how it works/looks like.

    Tamboti Toyota Firearms Festival update:

Willie Barnard, organizer/coordinator of the firearms

festival invited Johan Greyling ( owner of the Grietjie

canon ) Herman Nel/Elbie Nel (owner/builder of the

Kakebeen ox wagon to attend the firearms festival this year.

The Kakebeen ox wagon rides again....
Quite a new version of the oxen of today but this Toyota Prado towed the Kakebeen wa in grand fashion..

A new addition to the 1880 Era Black powder hunt itinerary list is this wagon box build by my good friend Chris Moolman , wood supplied by Willie Barnard...I will do the finishing on this wagon box...

Arriving late that evening, we were assisted by Willie Barnard and members with off loading and settling in ...the first photo of the next day is the copper kettle on the fire for the first mug of coffee that morning...

Early visitors to the 1800 era camping site...

Willie Barnard in his usual on the trot fast moving manner to sort out any problem arising...in his all terrain, tree smashing , rock jumping , never die Toyota 4x4 bakkie....

Johan Greyling preparing the load for the canon to be shot by Willie to open the range..Herman Nel assisting in this endeavor..

Willie Barnard opening the range: let the shooting begin....

More photos to follow...the story will continue...

Since this was my first time ever attending this event I really was astonished at the the scale of things at this venue. All this was brought about by Willie Barnard. I do not think there is any such event held on such scale as the Ellisras shooting festival...

As pointed out by Willie Barnard, there are seven types of shooting ranges...the administration worked like clock work...it is just incredible how smooth all the events happens...

The different types of shooting ranges consisted of :
The flagship range : PMP Grouping event where every person tried his or her luck to win with the best grouping. The leader of this item gets to wear a hat indicating the current leader ...what a nice tradition...

A view from the PMP shooting range tables where all participants shoots from...

The first leader of the PMP grouping shoot...with the hat...

The BASA range was a big hit through out the day..excellent prizes was part of this event...

Then there was the pistol shooting range:

    And Action:::::::

In house training was provided for those who were not sure of how agro you need to be when shooting ...

    Safety was an important aspect...

Shotgun shooting clays was very popular...

Wildman provided a Lapua .338 rifle for those who wanted to shoot out further than the normal hunter:

A new event , the 1880 Era event where all visitors could feel, touch and ask about the old days and how the old people and Voortrekkers did live and survived...it seems to be a extremely popular exhibition since this site was visited by a lot of visitors...photos were taken and discussions were in the order of the day...

    Items were sold:

    Food was prepared:

    1800 era in 2015:

    A lodge on wheels...

Self defense and fire power was available:

A discussion with Hansie Minnaar who took over Oom Ken Stewart`s business gave as his idea of how he would like to deliver a service to our hunters. I would urge our members/hunters to support our local companies when ever possible...

Perigrene Bullets was another local supplier who really deserve our local support....in the end we will reap the benefits of supporting our local suppliers...

The future of hunting was looked after as well:
