Sports adventure shooting - Mpumalanga
Hi guys/gals,
Its been a few months since we visited Camo and co at funky town. For those of you who do not know, we are in the process of starting a sas chapter in mpumalanga with the guidance of the "founding fathers". I am happy to give an update on the progress we made in mpu.
We have found a range where we can do combatives and handgun/shotgun work, just outside middelburg. Today we had our first meet and shoot to discuss sas, the 4 of us (Me, Leroy, Abrie and Kevin) will be getting things off of the ground here
We still need to get a venue where we can do our Levels, 3 possible venues have been identified and meetings will be arranged with the owners.
Stay tuned...
Cheers
George

Thanks for the update GVC86.
I look forward to the day you get your venue sorted.
Good luck!Recent studies show that 1 out of every 3 liberals are just as dumb as the other 2

Re: Sports adventure shooting - Mpumalanga
UPDATE:
Hi guys/gals,
Just a quick update into the happenings in MP.
We held our first fun shoot in December last year with three of the GP sas guys attending. (Cordite Crazy, Herbert and Karl thanks a million for your help guys)
It was mainly held to give the interested parties a look into what sas is about, and exposing them to different shooting platforms.
The GP guys gave us a demonstration of the sas favourite, combatives, and everyone willing had a go.
We also did some pistol drills, a mini multi gun course and some safe weapons handling training for the green horns.
All in all it was a good day.
2016 has started off slowly for is in MP, with only one member attending the January qualifications in GP. Congrats to John-Hendry for being the first MP member qualifying for L3.
Tonight the first official sas MP meeting will be held to discuss the challenges we face in getting the ball rolling, with the most important issues being:
1. Finding a suitable range for level qualifications
2. 2016 calender
Thanks for following and if there is anyone interested in joining sas MP feel free to drop me a mail at
george.sas.mpu(at)gmail.com
We are also desperately looking for a range/farm willing to host us in mpumalanga any contact details will be much appreciated.
Cheers
George

Re: Sports adventure shooting - Mpumalanga
Sas MP chapter calender 2016:
Feb 27 - Pistol training + combatives demo
(Level 1 if possible)
Mar 26 - Pistol training + Level 1 if possible
Apr 15-17 - GP bush weekend (nb. Must have at least a L1 qualification)
May 14 - L1/L2/L3 at Funky town GP
Jun 25 - Pistol & Rifle practice for 5th Annual Delville Wood Memorial competition
Jul 15-17 - 5th Annual Delville Wood Memorial competition
Aug 06 - Practice
Sept 03 - L1/L2/L3 if possible + practice (or Sept 17 L1-3 at FT)
Oct 15 - GP invite to MP for fun competition (open to all L1 qualified)
Nov 05 - Family fun shoot & braai
Please note this calender may change if we procure a venue for Level qualifications.
Also according to sas rules you have to at least qualify for L1 to attend practice days, thus we have made the first few events training days where we will focus on general handgun safety an manipulation. On May 14th we plan a mass exodus to GP to get our members qualified, note this is dependant on whether we procure our own level qualification venue or not.

Re: Sports adventure shooting - Mpumalanga
Hi guys/gals,
As per this thread
http://www.gunsite.co.za/forums/showthread.php?t=70880
Sas Mp has a venue!
Due to the nature of the agreement with the landowner we will not be able to put up a calendar (or follow the one posted above), but will try our best to put up notification here early in the month. Though our practice days should be near the end of the month.
Thanks
George

Re: Sports adventure shooting - Mpumalanga
Hi guys/gals,
Sas mpu will have our next shoot on the 23/4/2016.
We will do a level 1, some basic pistol drills and combatives. Then we might even shoot a gong at 600m if time permits.
Cheers
George
