He got shot in the chest and still kept fighting, and then still ran away after that. So much for the one shot drop argument.

My thoughts too.
The AR did well to hang onto his weapon.
A question for the skilled, do you think dropping the torch and going for a blade would be a good move in this scenario?

Apparently he gave the suspect instructions to get down, but vital seconds were lost by doing this and the officer was attacked.

I don't know how this could be avoided - perhaps have a much bigger gap between him and suspect or get him down first with pepper or whatever.

If so, shit, imagine that give way and you end up in the water with that sail around you...
