My apologies to "the industry ".

I almost want to make a guess, and say this is the topic that somehow comes up the most on Gunsite.

Im also waiting for the next amnesty period. So i can inform my DFO that I somehow have also been using my S13 handgun in some competition shoots alongside my S16 firearms. Its really hard keeping this secret. Taking mental strain from it.

Other issue ive got. And this is serious. Is that my O/U Browning is on my name for Social Sport. Yet I have so far achieved Dedicated Sport status with it through CTSASA for 5 years running. While competing with it. And not just shooting it socially.

It seems to me that the uncertainty for many people is not so much about using it in a self defense situation as it is about being able to carry it for self defense purposes and the consequences of being "caught". The FCA is pretty clear, but if everyone you talk to tells the same lies you start to doubt too. It's how propaganda works, coincidentally.

I was also stopped in a roadblock when we were on holiday in the Cape about a month ago.

Friendly lady police officer. Asked me if I have a firearm on me, I replied in the positive. She asked to see fire arm and license. I cleared, put it down in the boot of my car, produced Sect 15 license. She compared SN, saw my face looked similar to the card, and let me on my way.

Here's a conundrum...can you license an extra barrel for an S13 firearm? Under what section then

I find it highly unacceptable that people that should know more about the FCA, like police and people working in gun shops, don't know that it is not illegal to carry a S15. If you stop a police officer and ask him or her: Is it illegal to carry a S15 or S16 firearm? he should not say I am not sure. he must say it with confidence, No, not at all. Especially officials who work in the licensing department. They must know their stuff. They don't have much to remember, the FCA is not that big, especially if that is your only task at work.
I really hope that organisations like SAGA can insist that those people like police officers and gunshop owners must get better training in this regard. Because then these question would have never been asked in the first place.
At my work, I am expected to know everything regarding my work. They should too..

Obviously under s15 or s16 because you can only have one s13 license. Imagine the confusion. The s13 license expires but the barrel license has another 5 years to go
There are no stupid questions ........ just stupid people

But you do also have to remember that the FCA is only one of many that they have to deal with, and possibly a lot less frequently than some of the others.

But that's easy, you carry just the barrel!
