    Default SD Ammo performance

This is one of the better tests I have seen. I am not very convinced a test that does not include bone to be the most accurate. I also see 40 and 45 outperforming 9mm when you have bone and other hard stuff in the mix but thats not the discussion. I hunt only with premium ammo I load myself. SD should be no different. But follow the link and enjoy.

Interesting to see how many of the bullets failed to expand. All but one of the .40 Hornady Critical Duty didn't expand at all.

I'm suprised BigT hasn't weighed in on the rather abysmal and disappointing Critical Duty performance across the board.

As for me, my next 40S&W and 45ACP restock will be HST.

It does seem that in the 9mm the bullets functioned better, another reason 9mm is better than .40?

Haven't seen looked hard enough but are their calibration numbers on that gel?

Also bullets do funny things and one batch can be different to another. Critical Duty does seem to work better from service size guns.

This is not the first time the 175gr Critical Duty has failed to perform in testing. IMHO there are simply better options in .40 at present.
