    Default FX Independence power adjustment

I have finally purchased an FX Independence .22 after years of Googling. Lovely rifle, but I am a bit confused about the power adjustment settings, though. I am currently shooting 27.01 gr pellets and they seem to struggle to penetrate a Milo tin on 10 - 20 meters. My rifle doesn't have a power adjustment wheel as depicted on the FX website and they are not replying to my email. I would think that that a hunting air rifle would pack more punch and that I need to adjust the power before I venture out into the bush. Please help, how do I adjust the power settings?

Do you have a way to measure its speed? Then we will know if it is down on power. That can then be corrected by a gun mechanic
Just remember that a .177 pellet will penetrate far better than a .22 pellet at the same power levels. I've got .177 and .20 pellet guns, no .22. But I can tell you that my .177 shoots with around 12fpe and my .20 at around 20fpe. Using Crosman Premier pellets, which is using harder than average lead, my .177 penetrates deeper than the .20!

27 grains is exceptionally heavy for a 5.5mm PCP

Try the 15.90 or 18 Grain JSB or AA pellets

Ok, had the rifle at the range on Sunday and it seems like my problems are solved. I shot 14, 16 & 18gr JSB Exact and I was able to hit a shotgun shell on 100 meters. I was also able to shoot right through a 2l Coke bottle filled with water on 100m.

I think the initial pellets were way too heavy. I have cleaned the barrel and have now shot around 1500 pellets, seems like the barrel is properly leaded in. I have not had the chance to crony it yet, waiting for my buddy to get his back after lending it out.
