Spyderco Delica vs Endura

So I've noticed that these are two of the more popular knives, carried by members of the forum. I myself own an Endura 4 FFG, along with a few other Spydies.
I've noticed that a lot of the members are big into their Delicas for EDC, and so I was wondering, what gives?
Why the Delica over other models, namely, in my case, the Endura?

Generally it's ease of carry, not too big or small.

Problem with the more compact sized knives is that their handles don't fit in my hand quite comfortably, where as the Delica just hits the ergonomics perfectly

The Delica is smaller and lighter. The handle fits nicely but I think when looking at the blade to handle ratio the blade is a bit short.
The Endura is just to large a blade for me in an office environment.

The Stretch sits right in the middle of these two and I think it has the best ergonomics as well. I currently rotate between a Stretch and a Delica but do prefer the ZDP189 on the Stretch over the VG10 of the Delica.

I do not own either but have handled both. The Endura is a big knife; my philosophy is that a big knife can always do a small chore but not always the other way around. The Delica is almost the same length/size as my EDC (CRKT M21) and although it is a wonderful companion it often proves itself to be a tad too small for serious work. I once butchered a cow with it, and another time a kudu bull. Not that easy when the hands get tired from the small grip.

Im sure Sal Glesser will be quite happy that his little Delica was used to butcher a cow and a kudu! I think he had much smaller tasks in mind for this awesome little knife.

I got my Delica as an impulse buy since it was a very good price and it fits sneakily in any of my office wear pockets without arousing suspicion in my highly visible job.

I would definitely NOT mind an Endura though!

I love my Endura.
When I first got it, it seemed massive and I considered returning it. I soon fell in love with it.
It's big, but not too big. It's definitely got a useful section of blade though... all 83mm (or is it 87?) of it.

I carry it to work as part of my EDC and I can't fault it. All I would add to it is the deep carry clip.

Hahaha That mental picture! I've been staring at my Delica thinking... Whoah....

My first spyderco was a delica. The endura was just too big. Since then I have changed my opinion, whether it be through experience and different training or taste I now favour the larger blade sizes.

I think that people must be comfortable with their edc. If you are not, it's going to be left at home or fumbled when you need it most. Whatever works and suites your needs is perfect.

I don't own a Endura, but I do have a Delica as well as a PM2. I find that the Delica ends up in my pocket 90% of the time. It fits my hand perfectly and is more than adequate for general EDC tasks. It basically disappears in my pocket and I think that it's a lot of knife in a compact and light weight package. I have owned my Delica saber grind for almost four years, and I'm so impressed with it, that I've ordered another Delica with a full flat ground blade.....
